A defensible number, not an estimate

We measure the embodied carbon of construction materials across the complete A1 to A5 lifecycle. Primary data from your plants, hauls, and job sites. Comparable results that support procurement and design decisions.

What this covers

Every downstream decision depends on measurement. Carbon credits require a quantified delta. EPDs require conformant data. Methodology development requires a baseline you can defend in public consultation.

We build that measurement from the ground up. We collect primary data from your production plants, your haul routes, and your job sites. We model the complete system boundary from raw material extraction through installation on the road.

The result is a number that stands up to third-party review, registry scrutiny, and buyer due diligence. If the number isn't there, we tell you before you invest in the next stage.

Failed Roads Qualify

Cold recycling is a reconstruction method, not a maintenance treatment. The road must have reached the end of its structural life, where resurfacing and repair are no longer effective solutions.

Mill and Remove Aged Asphalt

A cold recycler pulverizes the existing asphalt and base layers into loose material in a single pass. The failed road becomes the raw material for the new one, processed entirely on site.

Material Processed

The pulverized material is processed into a uniform, size and engineered mix.

Recycled and Remixed

A recycling agent is introduced into the reclaimed material, reactivating the old binder and transforming it into a structurally stable base layer without heat.

Compacted and Installed

The finished cold mix is laid right behind the recycling train and immediately compacted, allowing traffic to reopen within hours. It’s highly efficient: contractors typically finish 1 to 1.5 center line miles per shift, making it two to three times faster than conventional repaving.

Our approach

Scope and boundary

Define goal, scope, functional unit, and system boundary. Align with PCR requirements if EPD is downstream.

Primary data collection

Collect operational data directly from plants, contractors, and haul operations. No generic database averages where primary data exists.

Modelling

ISO 14040/14044 conformant modelling. Full cradle-to-installation analysis with transparent assumptions and sensitivity checks.

Baseline comparison

Model the incumbent method under identical conditions. Quantify the delta. Document every assumption for third-party review.

Scope
  • Goal and scope definition, system boundary setting

  • Primary data collection from plants, contractors, and haul operations

  • ISO 14040/14044 conformant modelling

  • Cradle-to-installation assessment (A1–A5)

  • Sensitivity analysis and uncertainty documentation

  • Comparative baseline analysis against incumbent methods

  • Data collection protocols for ongoing monitoring

  • Third-party review preparation
