Before you build a methodology, know what you have

We evaluate whether a material, process, or technology is suitable for carbon accounting. We identify the registry pathway, data requirements, and commercial viability before committing to a full methodology.

What this covers

Feasibility is the screen. You bring us a material, a process, or a technology you believe has environmental merit. We determine whether it can survive the full pipeline: field performance, cost competitiveness, contractor adoption, and carbon accounting rigour.

We test on live roads under real traffic. We compare cost per lane-mile against the incumbent. We assess whether the method can be built with equipment already in the market. If it passes, we map the pathway to LCA, EPD, methodology, or all three.

If it doesn't pass, we tell you where and why. Early clarity saves time and money.

Our approach

Material screening

Characterise the material or process. Laboratory testing for mix design, compatibility, and baseline performance indicators.

Field trials

Build instrumented trial sections on live roads. Monitor under real traffic, weather, and construction conditions over months.

Cost and constructability

Compare cost per lane-mile against incumbent methods. Assess equipment requirements, contractor readiness, and specification pathways.

Pathway mapping

Identify which registry pathway fits. Map data requirements for LCA, EPD, and methodology development. Define kill criteria and go/no-go decision points.
